Come learn several, done in both Furioso and Squilina. Not recommended for absolute beginners; steps will not be taught.

8/2/2012 10:00:00 Beginner: Introduction to the Inns of Court Dances Guillaume di San Marino   Simple late c16 English social dances from the Inns of Court. They can easily be perform by everyone, regardless of age or agility or experience. Participants will use cheat notes based on extant sources & walk through the most common dances.
8/2/2012 11:00:00 Candida Luna Guillaume di San Marino   AKA "Gracca Lite". Candida has short verses and chorus-like pattern. It is an excellent introduction to c16 Italian Dance. For experienced Italian Dancers, its simplicity offers an ideal opportunity to interact and impress one's partner.

Steps will be taught, beginner’s welcome.

These constitute a suite from Arbeau, which we often enjoy dancing as a challenge, listening to musical queues to see which dance is next in sequence. Come learn them properly, so you can try to keep up with the musicians!

This class will attempt to not only teach a few dances but will share the key to understanding the form.

It is a fun fusion of Italian piva and the form of a longways country dance as was found centuries later as English Country dance.
